Sally Hampson, an artist and weaver, took residence in an empty shop in Stroud High Street in early 2012. This residency supported by SVA, has enabled Sally to develop her practice and engage visitors in the weaving process. Now through lots of visitor interest and successful Awards For All funding Sally is offering free weaving workshops* and hosting some special weaving events.

Introduction to Weaving Workshops with Sally Hampson
If you have never woven before and have always wanted to have a go now is your chance. The looms will be set up for you so you can get weaving straight away. You will explore techniques to create different texture and surfaces. Learn how to set up a loom yourself and how the loom works. There are three different courses which will run for three Saturdays from 10am-3pm or three Thursday evenings 6-8pm. All participants are asked to attend all 3 sessions.
