Image uploading
For some people uploading the image directly may be new to them. We have tried to make it as simple as possible for you but, once we receive the uploaded image, we need to further process them for the directory. We need to resize and colour adjust them and most importantly we need to associate a large number of images with the correct artist!
That is why we need your cooperation, with over 80 artists, the next stages can be very time consuming for SVA so please try to follow the instructions. (It may help to print out this page)
Most Important
- Save the image that you are going to upload to your desktop as an uncompressed jpg
Make sure that the file size is at least 1Mb or the image will not be sharp enough.
If the image is less than 900x900 pixels it will not be uploaded.
- When you save it, rename the file on your computer exactly as described here.
The filename MUST be changed to be in the format (LastName).(Initial of first name).jpg (note the dots - Lastname dot initial of FirstName dot jpg
For example, if your name is Tracey Emin, your file MUST be named emin.t.jpg (Mac users be careful that you do not name it emin.t.jpg.jpg (repeated jpg)
If the file is not correctly named in this format, upload may appear to be complete but your file may be lost.
Click the 'Choose File' button if you have a PC, or 'Browse' if you have a mac and browse your computer for the file. Select your file and click 'Open'.
Depending on your operating system, the file name may appear alongside the 'Choose File' button.
Click 'Upload'. A bar will show upload progress.
With large high-resolution images this may take some time! Please don't try to upload another image until the first one has uploaded and you see a thumbnail of the image.
Whilst the image is uploading, type your own 'artist name' in the 'Name' box.
Once uploaded you will see a thumbnail of your image. If it is not the one you intended you may remove it and upload another.
When all your images have uploaded click 'Save' - your image upload is done.
Should your image not upload correctly or you get an error message then your image probably does not comply with the required pixel size above.
