Resound Bites
Wednesday 6 February 7.30pm
4 John Street, Stroud GL5 2HA
Resound kicks off the New Year at SVA with quiet, almost still, music and field recordings. Combining Harold Budd and Eno inspired piano and electronic soundscapes, sublime and poetic cello and pointillist dapples of percussion, Andrew, Celine and Peter present an evening of lower case improvised music, all set to a suitably fragmentary and ethereal video backdrop.
Following, there will be the chance to see a highly informative documentary on French "avant-garde" composer, Eliane Radigue which observes her at work in her studio, operating the ARP synthesizer she is famous for using and talking about the process of composing and recording.
“Sometimes it was enough to barely touch one of the recording or playback potentiometers”
