How to upload your images for the Open Studios Exhibition in the Museum in the Park

So you're ready to submit your images for the Open Studios Exhibition in the Museum in the Park.
Please read the following instructions carefully.
If you haven't done this before, you may want to print out this page for reference before going to the 'Upload' page. The process is not difficult but the instructions do need to be followed carefully or your images may disappear. Remember that the selectors will know nothing about you. They will only see the images together with the description.

The next thing to consider is the filename of your image. Please use something meaningful for the name. This name will later become the name on the label beside the work. Please do not use 'Untitled'. If you do, your image will probably disappear  into that black hole in cyberspace with all the other 'Untitled' images. Give all your images a different name. Please check the spelling and Capitalisation - we won't change this for you. Save the file as a .jpg file onto your Desktop or somewhere else easy to find. Do the same for the other two images.
For each of the images that you upload you will need to complete two important boxes, so prepare in advance.

Description: This is self-explicit.
Describe your work, first with the medium and then with the size e.g oil on canvas, 80 x 80 cms, or salt-glazed pot 40cm high x 15cm diameter

Alternate Text:
This box is very important. Visually impaired people now use machines to read aloud web pages. Clearly they can't read an image so we, as a publically funded body, are required by law to provide an 'Alternate' text. This text is also used by the search engines and can help promote your work. I suggest you put your artist name and the title of the work and a one or two word description of type e.g. Leonardo da Vinci, the Last Supper, painting or Grayson Perry, Saint Claire 37,  Earthenware pot.

You're now ready to head over to the 'upload' link which will open a new page on your browser. Don't click the link yet, read the rest of the instructions and you will find the link is at the bottom of the page.

Create your exhibition images
When the 'Create your exhibition images' page opens you will see three 'Browse...' buttons. Click the top one and a 'File Upload' window will open. Browse for your first file and click 'Open'. (Perversely, the 'Open' button closes the browser window!)

You will now see the selected filename in the box beside the 'Browse' button. Click the adjoining 'Upload' button. You will see a progress bar showing that your image is uploading. When upload completes you will see a thumbnail image of your work and two new boxes will have appeared.
'Description:' and 'Alternate Text:'. Fill in the two boxes with the words you have already chosen (see above)

Click the 2nd 'Browse...' button and repeat the above process. When you have done that, do the same for your third image. Always fill-in the Description and Alternate text boxes before uploading the next image.
You should see thumbnails of all three images on the page. If you uploaded the wrong image you can delete it and try again.
If you are happy with the images enter your artist name in the 'Title field:' box. Click the 'Save' button and relax. Its done!

Now you've read all the instructions, click this link to take you to the image upload page

The closing date for images is Friday April 22nd
